On 11/11, luminary mentor Patti Smith responded to contributor Zane Alan McWilliams by live duet. This exclusive video documents their performance of Zane's original composition, "Do Re Mi," at the Fortnight Journal benefit concert. Recipient of the 2010 National Book Award for her memoir Just Kids--and decorated by the French government as Commandeur, Ordre des Arts et des Lettres--Patti Smith here graciously serves Fortnight's mission of generational torch-passing.
That same night, she soulfully performed works such as "My Blakean Year"--a title emblematic of the commitment to tradition that informs her impressive body of work as writer, performer and artist.
