ben watsky was born in california and was raised in new york. he has a bachelor of science in aviation flight operation and an mba in aviation business from daniel webster college. he started flying at the age of 11, soloed at 16 and earned his private pilot's certificate at 17, the minimum age. he has worked as a flight instructor, personal pilot and currently is a commercial pilot with the largest regional airline in the united states. ben writes, "the fortnight experience was a fun and interesting opportunity to inform a group of people about an industry that is not well known about or understood by the general public. the format being online allows for a variety of beneficial presentation methods and is a great concept. i presently plan on continuing my work as an airline pilot for 1 or 2 years before going to law school and hopefully starting a consulting firm for aviation safety."
