christina cruz is a flyweight boxer who fought in the qualifying rounds for the first ever women's olympic boxing team in 2012. she did not make it to the olympic team, but competed in the finals, finishing fourth. christina won six new york golden glove championships. she has competed and placed in the pan am games that took place in guadalajara, mexico and was the 2012 national boxing champion. she began boxing at the age of 22 when she was introduced to it by a friend and fell in love instantly.
